Friendship Books were developed by Good Ideas founder, Silke Jauck. A native of Germany, Silke was inspired by memory books her daughters kept and shared while in elementary school. These books were filled with details of the girls’ lives and those of their friends. When the family moved to the United States, she saw firsthand how valuable and important the books were as her daughters treasured and lovingly remembered their first childhood friendships.
Once settled in the States, Silke was surprised to find no similar childhood memory book available. Confident that American school children would also enjoy collecting memories in their very own keepsake, she-with her three daughters serving as creative consultants-set out to create a unique American version that was easy-to-use, kid-friendly and affordable. The resulting Friendship Books are a safe alternative to online social networking and sure to be a hit with children and adults alike.
Throughout the book’s development phase, Silke remained committed to her business philosophy of “keeping it local.” Each Friendship Book has been designed, illustrated, published and printed in America.
